she/they had a child Caroline Margaret Christie born Dec 16 1907 in possibly Montreal, Quebec
there also was a brother supposedly from this union, who died at about 18 months old, name unknown, but presumably born in Montreal also, he was born BEFORE Caroline.
******* This is my aunt's information about her mother and grandmother, both are deceased so can't ask them. And what little information she has is very slim.
***** the mother Mary, ended up in Winnipeg manitoba...and married to James A. Cole the daughter was later adopted by James A. Cole, the mother died about 1921.
My aunt has the daughter Caroline Margaret Christie/Cole living with the father on the census return,BUT, for the life of me I can't get this census information to show up on ancestry. Don't know WHAT I am doing wrong but not getting any census info for Canada.
any suggestions greatly appreciated.
At the moment we are trying to find out more about Wm. F. Christie's relationship to Caroline Margaret Christie
what her mother's maiden name was. we believe she was born 1 Jan 1885 in Edinburgh, Scotland, but I am not sure where she got this information from, so everything should be taken with a grain of salt as to the accuracy.
She died on 7 May 1922 in Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada.
At the time of her death she was married to James A. Cole
born about 1883 not sure WHERE and he died about 1983 persumably in Canada.
the information my aunt has says that Caroline Margaret Christie Cole was living with James A. Cole [stepfather/or father since he adopted her] and James A. Cole's sister Mary Jane SMITH, [presumably this was her married name, and perhaps was a widow, and therefore the reason she was living with her brother] this was on the census for 1921???
Caroline was aged 14 at the time of her mother's death and living in Dougall, Manitboa.
Caroline was also called KAY.
James A. Cole and Mary Christie had two children from THEIR UNION
Violet Cole born persumably in Manitoba
Mary Cole born presumably in Manitoba.
I haven't looked for anything on these folks, with the hopes of leading back to their half sister or their mother.
So any suggestions, or connections out there would be great.
Any suggestions what I am doing wrong in trying to find the census would also be appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and offering any possible help.
