I am researching a family that lived in the Strathcona, AB district named EMERY.I found one of the sons and his wife listed in the Obit index at the EPL website and need someone to look up their obits and either mail them or email them to me.Will reimburse you for reasonable expenses (copies/mail). I would also appreciate help with cemetery listings that are on-line - can't seem to find what I need and the library card restriction on the EPL site is not helping.Anyone know how "out-of-towners" can get around this?Anyone out there have cemetery books?
Here is the information found in the obit index (There are other Emerys in the index, but as of now I don't know how/if they are related):
Emery, Raymond ColemanOct 21, 1961 (obit date) Emery, Ida OliveJanuary 31, 1972 (obit date)
I am also looking for obits for the parents and siblings of the above man. They are Lowell P. EMERY and his wife Alma who moved to AB from Minnesota between 1895 and 1901. According to family trees on Ancestry, Lowell died 28 Feb 1920 and Alma died 6 Apr 1929. Another son, Lee EMERY died 16 Dec 1903.There were two daughters in Lowell & Alma's family, Myrtle and Maisie/Mazie EMERY.Does anyone out there have marriage books?I know that Myrtle died 3 Mar 1919 according to the Ancestry Tree, but don't know if she was an EMERY at the time or if she had married. Help with these would be appreciated also.
There were small death notices in the hometown Minnesota paper when Lowell and Alma died. Can someone tell me where Conjuring Creek (Alma death notice) or Conjuring Park (Lowell's brother's obit)is located in Alberta? Can't find any references to this online in place names of Alberta.
Hope that there might still be decendants of this family still living in that area that can contact me - would love to find someone that has pictures to share.
Thanks for your time.Hope to hear from some of those genealogy angels! Alice Shofner
