Jessie MacAulay was born in Isle of Lewis, Scotland in 1885 and emigrated to Saskatchewan c1910-11 then moved on to Alberta. Jessie was in North Battleford, Sask as a witness at her sister, Christina's, marriage to Andrew S Thomson in 1913. After this time Jessie married a gentleman with the surname Cairney, or Kearney (not sure of the spelling). It is not known when Jessie moved to Alberta - whether it was before or after her marriage I understand the family may have lived in the Red Deer area but this is not a definite. Jessie had two daughters who competed in Scottish Highland dance Competitions and one of them may have married a gentleman with the surname Butler. There may have been a son too but, again, I don't know for certain. If anyone has any info on my Great-aunt I would be delighted to hear from you. Catriona Scotland.
