George Bolt married Olive Ibbitson, born in Ireland, and had a family of three boys and four girls. George & Olive Bolt came to Alberta in October 1918, residing on a farm in Pleasant Prairie. After farming there for two years and the passing of George's wife, Olive, the family moved to the Hillside District.
George farmed there for 29 years until his death, at the age of 83, in August 1949. The eldest son, Tom, and his wife, Martha, farmed on the adjoining quarter section for two years, at which time, a younger son, Jeffrey George, and his wife, Rosie, who was born in Wisconsin, took over the farm. One son, Ralph, was killed in the first World War. The oldest daughter, Kate, passed away at St. Joe's Island in her early twenties. A daughter, Millie, and her husband, Harry Erwing, live in British Columbia. Another daughter, Grace, and her husband, Almer Cruckshanks, live in Ontario. Amey and her husband, Barney Jung, live in Illinois. Jeffrey George and Rosie continue to operate the farms at Hillside. They raised six children: two boys and four girls. The oldest son, Patrick, served in the second World War, and passed away in April 1955.
