According to the book,"Over Cherry Tree Hill",....."In 1973, John G Parker, of Nanaimo, B.C., Canada , found among some old family papers a letter written by Elizabeth Harris (nee Leader) to her Aunt Susan Parker in England. The letter was written on 14th July,1868."
My great grandmother, Susan Hannah Leader, Elizabeth's sister was named after her Aunt Susan.
I would very much like to be in contact with Mr Parker if he is still living or if not with any of his descendants.
A George Parker was one of the witnesses at the marriage of the parents of Elizabeth and Susan Hannah. This marriage took place at St Margaret's Barking, Essex, England in 1836.
How did a letter sent from Australia to England come to be found in Canada over one hundred years after it was written?
