I found on microfilm at the Geneva Public Library, Geneva, Ohio, a certification that Mr. Otto Kauppinen and Miss Ruusa Kotilainen were married in THE STATE OF OHIO, ASHTABULA COUNTY, "in the Township of Ashtabula Harbor". Some parts of the document are difficult to read, but it appears the marriage took place on June 23, 1892. It should be of record that a "th" appears after the 23 rather than a "rd" on the document. They were married by a "Finnish Lutheran Pastor". Please note that the first name of the bride was spelled Ruusa. In previous research work that I have done these names have also been used as a first name: Roosa, Rwisa, Rosa, and Rose.
