Hi Kay, I looked at Ancestry.com site (www.ancestry.com) and entered, William Henry for the first name (I put both names in the first name box) then Berry for the last name and 28 listings came up under, "Ancestry World Tree entries for WILLIAM HENRY BERRY".Click on that and when the list comes up, click "Next 10" and the 7th one down is your relative.I clicked on "E-mail Submitter/Download File" and the submitter is someone with an email address of email@example.comI see you have a different email address - perhaps you were in touch already with this person as you have some of the same info. You can download from that page that shows the submitter's email address the gedcom that they submitted to Ancestry.com.
Here's the interesting part. Back on the page that lists William, I click on "Ind. View" (it's to the left of (E-mail Submitter"). Scrolling down, it has the following notes from the submitter:"Family traditions statethat when William and Anna married, it was against her parents wishes and she was ostracized from her family. One rumor says that William was a professional gambler and only came home long enough to get Anna pregnant before he was off again. Another rumor says that Anna got mad at William for something and threw his paycheck in the stove and he left, never to return. In later years, two of his sons went looking for their father but when they returned, they wouldn't say what they had found. That secret has remained to this day. The third rumor is that he was killed in a gunfight over a poker game and is buried somewhere in British Columbia, Canada.
You're right - definitely a mysterious family. The information this person sent in is of Anna's family with more info on them and a total of 612 individuals in the file. You probably were in touch with this person but I'm kind of hoping not so that you will have a break through in your search.Good luck.
