The Meldram family I know about is from Northumberland, England, and the earliest person I know about was Thomas Meldram and his wife Ann GLADSTON(E)in the late 18th and early 19th century. I am descended from son George Gladstone MELDRAM and his wife Martha HORSLEY, via son John Horsley Meldram who came to Victoria, (in what was later B.C.) arriving in 1865 after a 388 sea voyage on the sailing ship Firth of Forth, which came across the Atlanta, down and around South America, then up all the way to Victoria. I am descended from their daughter Frances Ann Meldram, and her husband, Victoria City policeman John Wesley WALKER, (whose mother was a BAIRD), their daughter Isabella Walker who married Martin COTTET, and my mother Betty Cottet who married Edward (Ted) PARDOE WILSON, (of the Worcestershire, England, Wilsons and Pardoes) of Vancouver B.C., my home town. Other Meldram descendents in BC include the children of (Frances) Maude (Walker) Smith and her husband Jim SMITH, and my mother's cousin Elaine Smith and her husband (John) Howard ZACCARELLI.I am in touch with many other Meldram family descedents in North America and the UK, and now have a new private family mailing list to help us exchange information. Send a blank e-mail message to: MeldramDescendantsfirstname.lastname@example.org to join us. So that we may have private, extended-family-only discussions, I must approve all new group members -- which I will certainly do for Meldram descendants and their spouses.
