I need some help in finding any information on several ancestors who came to both the United States and Canada in the early 1900's from England. I am a visitor from Australia and my only research source is the internet as I am in a very rural part of the US so if anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
I am looking for how and when William Webster and his wife Emma arrived in the US before they settled in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I believe they may have come through New York but I can't find anything. I think it would have been sometime between late 1898 and 1903. William would have been around 25 years old.
I am also looking for James Webster whom once again may have come through NY but I can't locate anything there either. According to a census he arrived in the US in 1902. He would have been 20/21 years of age. He settled in St. Paul, Minnesota with his wife Theresa who I believe was born in New York State. Theresa (Tess) was of German Heritage.
Lastly I am trying to find how and when John Webster, his wife Alice and their three children Stuart, Allan and Margaret arrived in Canada settling in Edmonton though I think at first they were in Calgary. They arrived sometime between 1924 - 1926.
William John and James are brothers. William and John were born in Yorkshire and James was born in Lancashire though they were all raised in Ellel (Galgate) Lancashire.
I am looking for searchable databases but don't seem to be able to find any so if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful. Any help at all would be much appreciated.
