Samuel Donald Cameron was born abt. 1832 on Nova Scotia. On the 8th of November, 1860, he married Elizabeth Doyle of Bedford, Nova Scotia. They married in the Poplar Grove Church. The licence says Sam was "of Truro". Witnesses were Alex Cameron and William Kissock (a Scot from Dumfriesshire who died in June 1868 age 65). The bondsman was John James Turnbull station master of Windsor Junction, an important rail centre.
Sam and Elizabeth lived in Pictou for twenty years and had seven children. They appear there in the 1871 and 1881 censuses. Sam worked for the railway as an engineer; his job took him and all the family to Winnipeg, where he died about 1900.
Has anyone any knowledge of Sam's parents, brothers, sisters, birthplace, please? Thank you, Anna
