My Grandmother and Grandfather came from Poland around the turn of the century. My knowledge of the family is next to zero due to a lack of interest on my part while my father and his siblings were still alive.
My grandfather died before I was born and my Grandmother never learned English, as I never learned Polish. My visits during the 30's were rather awkward and not something I looked forward to. I believe that the family name was Czyrillo (spelling?) but was informally changed at some point and all the children grew up as Curley. My Grandmother lived at 90x Selkirk Ave for her whole life and I haven't found any information as to her death.
I realize that anyone who might have known the family is long gone but where might I go to get some help, even as to the spelling of the surname? The first child was born in 1903 and I assume that the parents names would have been on the birth certificate.I hestitate to pay for a searchwhen I'm not sure of the name.
