I am interested in making contact with descendants of two of my grandfather's brothers who migrated to Manitoba in the early 1900s.
William Burr (b. 1876), his wife Mary Ann (ms Simpson) and their 4 children, James Simpson Burr, Edith Mary Burr, William Burr and Agnes Marjorie Burr settled in Winnipeg. It is believed many of their descendants are still there.
William's brother Alexander, (b. 1888) married Agnes Argo in Winnipeg in 1923. They farmed near Rapid City, Man. and had 4 children; Margaret Agnes Burr, William Alexander Burr, Peter Robert Burr and Helen Isabel Burr. It is believed that at least some of their descendants still live in the areas of Rapid City, Brandon and Minnedosa.
William and Alexander's cousin Peter Burr (b. 1862) migrated to Ontario (Owen Sound) where he married Margaret Leask. They later moved to Virden, Man.. They had 8 children; Robert William (1885) - m. Bertha Day; Elizabeth Amelia (1887) - m. Charles Wesly Gibbings and moved to Rosetown, Sask.; John Milne (1889); Clarence Henderson (1891) - m. Eugenia Rose; Hazel (1893) - m.
