That is the correct family!I'd never known them to live in New Hampshire.
I do have Ste-Catherine, Quebec as Howard Winfield Johnson's birthplace (from his obituary), though, and have several records that say "Quebec" only.
Family history says that Margaret died of tuberculosis shortly after 1920; her family would have taken in the boys -- but only if they could be raised Catholic.George forbade this, and they were sent to live in an orphanage -- the Stetson Home for Boys in Barre, MA.I've traced them from there to their adoptive family, named Belcher, who owned a fuel company.Mr. Belcher adopted them all, but Howard sort of dropped out of the family, as you can see in the 1930 census, and shortly thereafter joined the Navy.
Howard remained something of the black sheep, Charles became successful in his own right, and poor Arthur succumbed to TB himself eventually....
