I have a question on adoptions which I hope someone on this forum will be able to answer.
There are two cousins of my mother's ancestral family who were adopted - one from the Grey Nuns Orphanage on Cote-de-Liesse, the other, either from the same orphanage or from St. Pat's. Both were born in the 1920's, both died in the 1970's and I have birth dates for both of them. I presume it would be the adoptive parents' names that would appear on their birth certificates. (In the case of one of these relatives, the person told my mother that the word "adopted" was written on the back of her birth certificate).
My question is this: is it possible to find out who the biological parents or mothers of these two people were or are the records closed? If indeed these records are available, where would I write for them?
