JOSEPH ROBINSON b. Cumberland, England ca. 1812-3, d. Norton Station, Norton Parish, Kings Co., NB 28MAR1895 age 83 years, m. 1st MARY ______ (b. Ireland ca. 1813-6, d. Salt Springs, Kings Co., NB 28NOV1881 age 68 years); m. 2nd Noton Parish, Kings Co., NB 8NOV1883 ELIZA JANE (SPROUL) BELDING (b. NB ca. 1826, d. Saint John, Saint John Co., NB 1JAN1904; m. 1st Charles Benjamin Belding), d/o James and Elizabeth (McCown) Sproul.
Joseph may have been the Joseph Robinson b. England ca. 1813 in Norton Parish, Kings Co., NB in the 1891 census. His wife was Eliza b. NB ca. 1826. Joseph was a carpenter. This appears to be the case as Joseph, a carpenter, b. England ca. 1812, was in Upham Parish, Kings Co., NB in 1881. His wife, Mary (65) was b. Ireland so Eliza may have been a 2nd wife. Their son was John (19.)
When Joseph dies a notice of his death stated he was a native of Cumberland England, and left a wife and five children.
A Joseph Robinson of Portland, Maine m. St. Stephen, Charlotte Co., NB 30NOV1847 Mary Sullivan of St. David, Charlotte Co., NB but it seems unlikely that this was the same Joseph and Mary.
Although Eliza Belding was a resident of Norton Parish when she married Joseph, she lived in Studholm Parish in 1881 with her husband, Charles Belding. This was likely Charles Benjamin Belding who m. Eliza Jane Sproul.
Children:
1. JOHN ROBINSON b. Salt Springs, Kings Co., NB ca. 1861-2, d. Saint John, Saint John Co., NB 17JUN1933 age 72 years, buried Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, Saint John Co., NB, m. Saint John Co., NB 27MAY1889 MARGARET (MAGGIE) N. NAVES (b. Saint John, Saint John Co., NB ca. 1869-70, d. General Public Hospital, Saint John, Saint John Co., NB 26JUL1942 age 73 years, buried Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, Saint John Co., NB), d/o Samuel and Ann (Slack) Naves.
John's funeral record indicate that he lived at 160 Main St., Saint John and his funeral arrangements were made by his daughter, Mrs. M. H. Harrity.
Margaret;s funeral records show her father was b. Ireland and her mother was b. NB. She was a resident of 92 Adelaide St. Saint John when she died and her daughter, Mrs. M. H. Harrity, arranged for her funeral.
John and Margaret lived in Dufferin Ward, Saint John, Saint John Co., NB in the 1901 census. I don't find them in 1911. I am not certain that I have all of their children.
