You've found family!Your g-g-grandmother Catherine is a sister of my g-g-grandmother Mary Etta Fitzgerald (aka Mary E). There is a 2yr age difference between them.
Based on 1881 Census, I am guessing that Michael Fitzgerald (age 61) and Mary Fitzgerald (age 41) were married.I have not been able to confirm this Mary Fitzgerald anywhere. You are right in that the records I've found have said May Heoffer.May could be a misspell for Mary (because I've never seena "May" in my PEI research and Heoffer would have been her married name.
I do not know if they were born on PEI or Ireland. My grandmother told me her relatives came to PEI having fled Ireland and the potatoe famine. I don't know the timing of who came when.
From here, my g-g-grandmother Mary Fitzgerald (age 11 in 1881) married Alex Bambrick (age 29 in 1881) and continued to live and rear her children in Lot 39C.They had a huge brood of 14-15 with a last name of Bambrick that I'm researching.Very skimpy on Bambricks. One of their children was Catherine, my grandmother born in 1906.
Your notes were extremely interesting in that your Catherine/Margeruit moved to Boston. My Catherine moved to Boston ~1923-1925ish and definitely had an aunt there. I'll follow up with my mom on who and how many. Seemed many from PEI moved to Boston. She also had a brother and sister go there as did my grandfather (also from PEI) and a few of his brothers. I am very confident your Catherine (about 33yrs older than mine) was a front-runner!Amazing how they repeat names and follow each other around.
