Hi, I'm looking for the parents of Pelagie Arseneau who married Joseph Pitre Nov 8/1853 at St. Augustine in Rustico PEI (witnessed by Gallua Arsenaux & Adelaide Pitre).
She would have been born in the 1830s.(Possibly in 1836 as her age is given as 45 in the 1881 census). They had 14 children: Leon (1855), Catherine (1856), Marie (1858), Margaret (1860), Albert (1889), Thessalonique (1864), Lucien (1865); Jean (1867), Henry (1869); Simon (1873); Gilbert (1876); Priscille (1878) all born in Rustico. The youngest Emilie (1880) was born in St. Marys, Kent Co, NB.The family was in the 1881 census at Saint-Paul-de-Kent, NB.
Leon is my husband's g-grandfather.He returned to PEI in 1881 and married Marie LeBrun, then in the late 1890s moved the family to Blackville NB under the name "Peters".They had the following children:Mary Catherine (1882), Joseph Henry (1883), Cyrile (1885), Mary (1886), Elisabeth (1888), Joseph Benjamin (1890), Francois Xavier (1891), Leon Moise (1893), Albert (1895), John (1898), Anastasia (1899), Helen Jane (1902), Priscilla Maud (1904), Evelyn Christina (1906).
Albert and Lucien appear in the 1901 census at Saint-Paul, NB.
Albert married Magdeleine Bernard and had the following children:Arthur (1889), Mary Pelagie (1890), John Edward (1892), Judith Eleonara (1894), Mariane Lodia (1896), Gilbert (1898), Suzanne (1900), Jospeph Anthony (1902), Leon Israel (1904), Honore (1906), Marie Priscille (1908).
Lucien married Henriette Gallant and had the following children:Avelina (1895), Mini (1896), Mary Angeline (1898), Joseph William (1900), Mary Regina (1902), Marie Emma (1904), Joseph Auguste (1906), Marie Virgina (1908).
Marie married Gilbert Gallant in 1875 (son of Victor Gallant and Judith Pitre).
There is a death certificate for a Pelagie Arseneau in Saint-Paul, NB who died in 1899-05-15 at age 67.She was born in Egmont Bay PEI.It would make the DOB 1832.However, her maiden name is used rather than her legal married name so it may not be her.
I also found a Pelagie born in 1833, daughter of Claude and Marie Arsenault of Egmont Bay.
