Hi Susan, I asked my daughter for the info and she replied as follows: Hi Dad
I think I have kept the address, or, at the very least, a map of Harbin with the location marked, but I'd have to dig it out (not an easy feat - I think the stuff is packed away).
If the person she has speaks Chinese, I'm sure they'd be able to find out themselves by asking around - we were at the Public Security Bureau Archives (ŒöˆÀ‹ÇžƒˆÄ), and it was very close to a uni or institute of some sort if I remember correctly. If she's on a very tight timeline, I can pull out my files and go through them but it would be good to know how urgent it is.
Let her know that she'll have to have a Chinese translation of the Russian names she's looking for. The database is entirely in Chinese, and the records are all in Russian and Traditional Chinese.
Hope this helps you Susan -will be interested to hear how you go. Kind regards, Richard.
