I have not been able to find or see this WW I draft card. Are you sure Barbara Zavoral is listed as wife, not just contact person? We do now know the maiden name of Frank Zavoral's mother was Pohorska (or some similar spelling), but do not know her first name. Pohorska was given as mother's name on a sister's death record from California. I had an aunt named Rose Barbara.... Rose for her mother Rose Svoboda, but we don't know where the Barbara name came from.... suspect it could be from father's mother, hence Barbara Pohorska Zavoral, but we aren't sure. As he came to the US at about the age of 31, he could have been married before he married my grandmother in 1919. 1918 was a very terrible year of many deaths from the Spanish flu and other such ailments... TB, pneumonia, etc. both here in the US and abroad in Europe, too. One of the problems with finding information is that clerks in those days mispelled the name Zavoral many different ways... Zaboral, Zavrel, Zaverl, Zavril, etc. Add to that, the fact that documents are handwritten and not in good readable script and it gets very difficult to find records that match what we are looking for.
