Anna Hornicek (Coraopolis, PA), my grandmother, was from a small village called Prisnotice, Moravia. She was born in the 1880s. Her father was Joseph Hornicek (born March 17, 1844) and her mother was Rosalie Svoboda (born September 1852).
In Prisnotice, they had a sugar beet farm and Anna also worked in a sugar beet factory. They were very faithful Presbyterians. Anna's siblings were Joseph (went to school in Brno and died of tuberculosis), Francis (went to Dubuque College/Western Theology Seminary in America), John (ultimately became a professor of romantic languages at Yale University), Agnes Koukel, Eleanor Stephan (Portland, OR), Anthony (West Newton, PA).
