I am writing an article about mid-20th century ceramic tile artist Jean Nison, and need biographical information. She was born in Egypt, c. 1915-35, educated in France, and active in New York ceramic circles from about 1950-65. Nison wrote that her mother was a sculptor and the daughter of landscape painter Ernest Lawson, one of "The Eight" in early 20th century painting, and an exhibitor in the 1913 Armory Show. Nison participated in exhibits at the American Crafts Museum, the Dallas Museum of Art, the New York Architectural League, and the American Institute of Architects. Thank you.
