Seeking information about my ggggrandfather, Heinrich Freriche Tölken (changed to THOLEN in America). Travel documents were issued from Lütetsburg, Hannover. Their family of 13 arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana in November 1851. The travel documents were issued a year earlier in September 1850.
This was Heinrich(born abt 1789), wife, Richertge Gerdes SCHMIDT(born 1 Jan 1794), sons, Gerhardt(born 21 Feb 1836) and Frederick Henry(born 29 Dec 1816), his wife, Gaelka HENRICKS(born abt 1810), daughters, Antge(born 1822), Anna(born abt 1824), Johanna(born 1 Mar 1830), Harmke(born 27 Aug 1832), Friedericka Clara(born 16 May 1839), Frederick Henry's sons: Heinrich Frederick(born 3 Oct 1840), Heinrich Enoch(born 10 May 1845) and Herman or Harmon(born 1 Jan 1851).
An old family story speaks of being able to see the North Sea from their farm, but I have no way to validate that.
Two daughters came to America earlier. Wibka(born abt 1818), married to Heinrich(Henry) KRUSE, and Henriette(Ghetta)(born March 1826). They apparently arrived between the birth in Hannover of Wibka's daughter Anna in October 1846 and Ghetta's marriage in Illinois, 9 October 1849.
Any assistance in finding their original German home would be so greatly appreciated. If you prefer, you may contact me direct at firstname.lastname@example.org
