Constance (Pappazisis) Kirousis of Fitchburg, died on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after a brief illness. She was 94.
She is survived by two sons: Evangelos (Angelo) Kirousis and his wife, Pamela, of Fitchburg and Charles (Chuck) Kirousis and his wife, Linda, of Petersham and her devoted brother, Mathias (Mucho) Pappas of Fitchburg. She leaves four grandchildren: Kirsten Yanco, Meredith Kirousis, Kyle Kirousis, and William Kirousis; two great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Zoe Yanco; three step grandchildren: Stephanie McGovern, Lori Lizotte, and Megan Grant: one step great-grandchild, Hadley McGovern, and several nieces and nephews.
Constance was born January 13, 1916, daughter of the late William and Olympia Pappazisis. She was pre-deceased by two sisters: Olga Pappas and Helen Nikitas and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Kirousis.
Constance and her husband, William, owned and operated William Kirousis Clothing Store in Fitchburg for over forty years. Connie is lovingly remembered for her caring and giving spirit and her love of family, most especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Connie's family would like to thank the staff on the second floor at The Highlands for the care, love and devotion shown to her over the past eight years. Yia-yia loved her second family.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 17, at 10 AM in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1319 Main St. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 16, from 5 to 7 PM in the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 243 Water St.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church's Sunday school program or to a charity of the donor's choice. Those who would like to honor Connie's love of children may do so by designating some time to do something special with a child.
