Good day to all of you! I am interested to know how your research on Venitian names in the Aigion/Vostitsa region was concluded.
Olympia's remark about the Venitian nominal census list of 1700 are correct, unfortunately these censuses are not always readily available and we do need them...
For other Venitian nobility, etc in Morea there are scant indications in the Venice State Archives, where only a couple of familly files I have been able to consult.
For the Peloponnese/Morea there are Ottoman Turc village censuses. Turcs always made a population and property census every time they conquered or reconquered a land. But the Turcs are not cooperating when we ask for documents, also few can read ancient arabic turkish script. A few documents have been deciphered and read by Albanian scholars and concern older settlements in the N-W Morea where Albanian/Arvanites populations existed (and sometimes still exist).
This is a very (very) simplist image for those seeking peloponnese ancestry before 1850.
