I have a signet ring (carried on the left hand, small finger) with the bent arm holding a flaming bomb. This symbol or crest came or was inherited from my great great grandfather, Lt. Col. Albert Greenland (We know he served in The British Army in the late 19th century, either 56th Regt (Essex?) or the Northumberland Fusiliers). We also think he may have been Governor of Gibraltar in the 1880's. The family tradition of signet rings has been passed on from generation to generation.
