CLARK[E]/HALL FAMILY TREE. This family resided in Station's Hill, St. Michael, Barbados. I'm interested in finding the ancestral members of my mother's side of the family tree, particularly our women.
My grandmother was Marcella CLARK[E] who married William Jeremiah HALL of Grenada. My grandfather came to Barbados with his father and brothers. His father, my great-grandfather subsequently returned to Grenada. We do not know his name or his wife's name, but know that we have relatives in Grenada by the name HALL. I would also like to get a birth certificate for my grandmother Marcella Hall nee Clark[e].
My grandmother's mother was Jessy or Jessica Clark[e]. We are unclear as to the spelling or whether this is the correct registered Christian name. She was married. We need information on her date of birth as well as her husband's name.
Jessy/Jessica Clark[e] had three children:
Marcella Clark[e]; Edith Clark[e] who immigrated to the USA; and, a son probably named Benjamin Clark[e] who we believe went to Guyana.
We know nothing about Edith Clarke's life in the USA and if she had children there. We know that she had one son who remained in Barbados whose name was William(?)SHARP. Edith's son died in the last few years but we don't have any information on his wife or children.
We also know nothing about Benjamin Clark's life in Guyana.
We need to find out who was the mother and father of Jessy or Jessica Clark[e] as well as Jessy/Jessica's grandparents.
My mother recollects that Jessy/Jessica Clark[e] (her grandmother) would always say that her mother was the daughter of a slave woman. We would like to trace the family back to this slave woman and possibly find out what tribe and country she came from in Africa.
Since my grandmother, Marcella Clark[e] died at a very young age her daughters, including my mother, know very little about the family history. Marcella had four daughters and my mother is the only daughter who has a daughter. This makes me the last female on the matrilineal line connecting to Marcella.
I would like to know if Edith Clark[e] has any surviving daughters and if we have any more women out there!!
Thanks to anyone who can help me get moving on this side of the family tree.
