My best friend in NY sent your posting to me hoping that I can help. I do not know the family members of which you speak but maybe an older member of my family would. Both my parents are from Grenada, River Sallee and Suaters respectfully. My father is an Alexis and his father's name was Harvey Alexis (a man who just loved having children so he had dozens!) My uncle Lloyd Alexis was the Chief Medical Officer in Greanda at some point probbaly 1970's 1980's and is/was a well knowm physician. He would be about 80+ by now. My other uncle, AC Alexis was the minister of Labor in Trinidad (I am Trinidadian).
The reason that I mention these names is because Greandaians of a certain era would be familiar with those names and perhaps it may be a starting point to your search. Know that the Alexis famiy is a very large, extensive and convolouted clan so trying to unravel that we should be a rather interesting excercise. Know also that names repeat in families and this is who families find each other. So Yolande, lennox and Keith are familiar names with Alexis. I think I have a link for theTrinidad phone book and you can search for Alexis's there also
Chances are, we are realted as all Alexis are related even those from Haiti and Carriouc (I may have spelt that wrong).
I live in Florida and I meet Alexis all the, or people who are married to an Alexis or related to one and ll the sub set of families that are in some way inerconnected. In fact Alexis is also related to Noel. Yeah, I use my maiden name as my first name (too nice to let go). My eldest brother knocls all over the world and the entire caribbean and he meets new members of the clan quite often. In fcat, the family is a clan and very clannish, but great people.
So if you would like, I can ask AC Alexis (we call him Uncle Sonny) if any of the names that you mentioned are familar to him. If that would help, you can e-mail me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
