De Cosse', Barros, Lusto/Lustot, Montas, etc....
Hi,
I am looking for info. on my gggg grandfather named Michel De Cosse' Barros of Anjou France... His father was supposedly DE COSSE' and it was possibly his mother's maiden name that was BARROS... He went to Saint Domingue/Haiti at some point where he married Marie Elisabeth LUSTO/Loustau/Lustot (d/o of Antoine Lusto/Lustot and Elisabeth Magdeleine MONTAS) probably in Cuba after leaving St. Domingue because of the slave uprisings, but not going back to France because of the Revolution. He and Maria Elisabeth had at least one son, possibly born in Cuba, in 1806, his name was Joachim Michel Adolphe BARROS/BARROSSE (the name changed around this time also.)
The French were kicked out of Cuba and most of them as did my family came to New Orleans, LA......
I would love to share more info. with anyone that may possible know of or be related to any of these families.
Would love to try and find De Cosse Barros relatives in France... have more stories, legends, family myths that have been passed down.
Thanks for any help or advice.
cheers and peace,

PS...one of my cousins has written a book on this and other family lines, her name is Janice D. Young, as I know some people have already referred me to her, however, I am trying to help her with solving some of our family mysteries in this line. :) thanks
