Hello, I am new in the genealogy Haiti forum, because of the terrible events theese days, I am recalling the wonderfull months I spent in Haiti, in 1976, and want to get in contact, if possible, with the people I met there. I lived in Bainet for a while, and I met a young man ( approximatively 25-30 years old), his name was Riri Laguerre, he was rich, he had a huge lemon plantation near Bainet. I also met a charming middle-aged man, Eric Laguerre, Riri's cousin, he was poor but always very well dressed, with taste, like a pink bermuda with a light white short-sleeves cotton shirt. They used to make fun of him, because il était un peu simplet, mais je l'appreciais beaucoup, pour sa bonne humeur and his "dandy-look". I think the Laguerre are from Bainet. There is a famous story, or legend, that in the 30's or 40's, the two most important families of Bainet, the Laguerre and the Pierre-Louis started a tribal war, and killed almost every man of the two clans. Do you think you might be related to theese Laguerre? Thank god, when I arrived in Bainet, the Laguerre and the Pierre-Louis were friends again. Who is Lucrece Laguerre? Let me know more about your Laguerre, please, if it is not too confidential.
