Charles HÉRARD ainé, aka Rivière was born on the Patot plantation, in Petite Rivière de l'Etronc de Port, Torbeck parish on september 20th, 1789 and not February 16th as historians often say.he died in exile in Kingston, Jamaica on August 31st, 1850. He had married in the Roman catholic Church of Kingston on May 30th, 1847 Marguerite Anne Adélaïde CATOR, native of Les Cayes, Haïti, daugther of Augustin CATOR and Marie julie SAMADECK.
