i'm not certain about the Manneville - Canneville connection. I't's totally possible, due to the fact the names are very close. The Cannevilles were a family of colour that came to Charleston, South Carolina in the 1820's.Vincent Oge Canneville was born in1862 and their is a family legend abouthte Vincent and Jacques Oge connection.
As for the DeCaradeucs.. .they were a white noble family from Brittany. Jean-Baptiste Usrule Laurent DeCaradeuc fathered a family of color that were known as the Rollin family. The Rollin's were prominent in black society and most notable were Frances Rollin Whipper and her son (actor) Leigh Rollin Whipper. Leigh's granddau fwrote a book called "pride of Family" about the DeCaradeuc and Rollin families.
