My great grand father was Paul-Emile François who raised a family in Port-au-Prince and was father to Hermann, Justin, Claire (Mrs Fernand Anson) Lylia (Mrs Paul Bouchereau) and my maternal grand motherAlice (Mrs Charles Estève). I believe he died in 1935 in Port-au-Prince. There was, when I was very young, in Port-au-Prince a small street named after him in an area where he had once owned the land (near Ruelle Cameau). Unfortunately I am not sure of his line of trade or of where he was born. I always thought Port-au-Prince until I met the eldest of his grand daughter 10 years ago who told me that he was from a family of Jacmel of french origins. Birth or Marriage certificate records may clarify that. He died in Port-au-Prince around 1935 when he was around 100 years old at a younger age than his wife Leonide Lucas when she died in 1943. I am just starting to look for information I have to contact two of his grand daughters still alive but with somewhat failing memories. Feel free to contact me by email.
