This is getting exciting. As I said in my previous posting, my father said that his ancestors told him of the Chinese spelling of our surname which is Ong Tong. But except for his thriftiness, there is nothing about him, including his physical features, that suggest he is anything Chinese. He is dark complexioned, swarthy, gruff, and his brand of humor is finely tuned. We have a whole bunch of Ontongs in the island of Bohol. I have yet to meet one of them.
Do tell me more about yourself. My two kids, the younger Noel,22, and the elder Krispin, 29, are both keenly following the Ontong story.
By the way, I have an email telling me that one of the Ontongs has invested sum of money in an overseas company and it has been lying there for years and maybe I could claim the accimulated funds. The email is giving me the creedps because it sounds suspiciously like a con game. Would you know anything about this ?Has anyone ever written you this sort of an email ?
My mother is surnamed Diaz-Farma (the Philippines was a colony of Spain for over 300 years) and before my mom died she was telling us to look for our relatives in Barcelona, where her father (my grandad) came from. This is another story.
