How are you today? I do hope we can find out a little more about our ancestry. My father's names were Daniel Jacobus Ontong. I think his father's name was Abel. What are your family names? As I said to Alex, a lot of the names run in the family. Not necessarily mentally, but I believe more spiritually. Like his son's name is Noel and my cousin's name is Noel as well. You might have seen his name on the forum.
I never knew my grandfather Ontong as he died before I was born. I have a photograph of his family – they had mounds of children. I'll e-mail it to you as well. They also have a lot of Griekwa blood in them. You'll see in the photos. I hope Alex can read this, because I have not shared this bit with him. On top of it they have been mixed with German blood – what a mix.
My dad died four years ago, but I'll e-mail you his photograph as well. His nose looks very much like the Papua New Guineans – can almost hold a bone. As I said to Alex, it is a relief that we have an ancestry, especially living in South Africa where we have been stripped of all our self worth.
Stay in touch. I am sure you hear of the Great Big Monstrous Ontong Gathering in the pipeline.
