Kivlin sounds like a contraction of Kivlehan or Kiveleghan, a name that occurs in Sligo.I descend from a Kevil family of south Sligo and north Roscommon, which according to MacLysaght is also a contraction of Kivlehan.Originally a co-arb family of Westmeath, the Kivlehans (O Cuiveleghain) were dispossessed under Cromwell.
