Thomas Connaughton and Margaret Leonard’s marriage was registered in Loughrea, Co Galway Jan – Mar 1903, Volume 4, page 245. This is probably him in the 1911 census, in the townland of Tooloobaunbeg:http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Galway/Kilconierin/Tooloobaunbeg/463784/http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Galway/Kilconierin/Tooloobaunbeg/463784/ However he wasn’t living there in the 1901 census. This might be him in 1901:http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Galway/Ballymoe/Marnellsgrove/1381594/http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Galway/Ballymoe/Marnellsgrove/1381594/ Griffiths Valuation for 1857 has a Michael Connerton (note spelling) living in Marnellsgrove. He was renting a house and 4 acres (subsistence farming) then. Perhaps he’s Thomas’s father or grandfather.http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=nameSearchhttp://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=nameSearch If you get a copy of the marriage cert, you should get their townlands and from that be able to confirm their families.
