Thank you sooo much for your very quick response.I'm really not too familiar with the Gen Forum and Genealogy.com so today was my first post. I have sort of hit a wall with my Michael Dwyer and Martha Ellen Baker. As for Michael Dwyer I do not have a middle name or inital so I can only guess based on the names of his sons, Michael Dwyer and John Dwyer but Michael is such a common name...It would seem like I should be able to find them on some census but to date nothing. On all the documents I have the name is always written as Dwyer so I'm reluctant to think it is Dwire. The same with Martha E. Baker since on all the documents that I have those too all say Martha E.with the only discrepancy being on one or two census reports she is listed as coming from PA rather than OH.
As for the Martha Dwyer you suggested non of the children match upwith any sibling names that I recognize.
Thank you, Thank you for Mary and George Oven's info. That is indeed my great aunt and the George Oven she married is the younger brother of my great grandmother Emma Oven Disberry, Dwyer. There were about 15 children in that Oven family. I did not have the location of their marriage in Superior, WI which makes sense since they lived, died and are buried in Duluth, MN, just across the harbor from Superior, WI.
I'd really like to find some records for my Michael Dwyer who came from Ireland because this Sept 20-23 the Dwyer Clan are having a Clan rally in Williamsburg / Jamestown / Yorktown area of VA.It would be fun as well as interesting to try to connect with those Dwyers coming from Ireland because this is a well organized group of Dwyer genealogist and researchers. They also have a large Dwyer Y DNA project.I'm adopted and while this is my family of origin and I have made a lot of progress, I do not have a male Dwyer relative known to me at this time who is willing to be DNA tested.I am comfortable eliminating some folks but more hesitant guessing about including someone when dealing with such a fairly common name. Again thank you so much for your help and suggestions.I'm definitely open to any other additions or thoughts you may have. Thanks again.
