Hi Marilyn , I agree with Kathleen , you cant always accept , POB , age , name spelling and occupation as 100% correct . Remember that a large percent of people in the 1800's were illiterate and so they had no control over what was written by Registrars and census takers.
In my own family in Scotland Dwyer has been written Dyer so many times . My cousin in Scotland claims the Scots could not understand the Irish.
One of my wifes GG Grandfathers showed 4 different Places of Birth (POB) in 4 consecutive UK censuses.
Research I did for a friend with family on the Isle of Man (between England and Ireland) the name Kennah , had been written as Kenna , Kearney , Keaney , Kenney , ie almost anything begining with "K"
