Re: KERWIN'S - ABBEYLEIX, IRELAND
I searched the rootsireland database for several of the children's names.

For Edward Kerwin B 1867 +/- 1 yr, somewhere in Ireland with a father forenamed John, and a mother named Mary Murphy, I found 1 B record in Co. Laois.
For the other children with DOB exactly as you stated, I found:
William 1869 1 B record
John 1876 - No record.
Mary Ann 1873 - 1 B record
Pat(rick)1865 - 1 B record
Ellen 1863 - No B record.
John 1876 - No B rcd.
Michael 1878 - 2 B rcds.
The evidence strongly suggests this is for your ancestors. A view of the rootsireland database records (there is a small fee for each peek) MAY reveal small amounts of other info.
For the Marriage of John and Mary somewhere in Ireland, I found NO records in/around 1861.
Note - Civil registration was not mandatory until 1863. Therefore B/M/Ds before this date may/mayn't exist. If they do, they could be in church records, or simply didn't survive.
