I see its been several years since you posted this and hopefully by now you have found your answers. While I do not have any direct info regarding the family you seek, I can tell you that my own Ydna family (Moody) came from Nor. Ireland to New Castle, DE with the McQUISTON (spelled that way) in c1735. They removed to PA for a while and then proceeded south to Guilford Co., NC. Our earliest known Moody ancestor is Thomas MOODY b.c1710 in/of Aghadowey, Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland who married Jean McQUISTON daughter of Benjamin McQuiston. The Moody's and McQuiston's (spelled McCuiston once they hit the South), have several intermarriages.
I noticed in Co. Down, Ireland that the "McQuestion's" as you have it spelled were also in the old church records along with several other family names who married into our family tree...(Denny, Cherry, Traill, etc.)
The name of Hamilton also appears in several of our ydna Moody/McQueston family trees and we do share Ydna with several of the Hamilton name, so there is a very likely link with the "McQuestion" family you seek and ours. Have you seen the Leona B. McQuiston book on the McQuiston family publ. in 1936/37?While it does contain some mistakes it is by far the Best book on this family out there and is available from Higginson Books (online). It is a 2 vol. set and available in paperback to cut costs. There are many branches to the McQuiston/McQuesten/McCuiston etc. family tree and this one really helps to sort them all out.
I hope you have found the family you were looking for by now, but if not good luck to you in your research. I have posted a great deal of info to the Moody page here regarding these families if you are interested. While not all of it is correct and a lot of it needs Updating as new information is found all the time, a lot of it might be helpful to those searching out these families.
