Prior to the 20th century the town of Borris-in-Ossory was located in the Civil Parish of Aghaboe, Queens County, now County Laois.
The Latter Day Saints (LDS) have filmed the Catholic Church Parish registers for the Aghaboe Catholic Church, which may have been the church where Alexander was baptized when the family had lived in Borris-in-Ossory.
The church records go back to the year 1794.
It's also possible there are baptism records for Alexander's siblings and a marriage record for his parents in the Aghaboe Church registers.

The LDS have also filmed the Catholic Church registers for Borris-in-Ossory, but these registers only begin in 1840, over 30 years after Alexander was born.
