EDWARD MOORE: son of John [b.Ireland, 1749], grandson of James [b.Ireland, 1703], great grandson of William [b.England, 1662; went to Ireland as an officer of William III, 1690] (Source: Moore family records, J Montgomery SeaverPhila, Pa.1929)
Edward and Mary Ann [daughter of Thomas Irwin of Newtowngore] MOORE left Ireland [County Leitrim]in 1819 with their two sons, John Hamilton Moore [born 1816, Ballinamore]and Irwin Moore [born 1818]. First they lived in Freedom, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, before removing to Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio.Edward was a stone mason by trade and legion is that he built many building in downtown Youngstown. Later, he removed to Liberty, Trumbull County, Ohio, to work at farming. They had a total of 9 children [John, Irwin, Eliza, Edward, Thomas, William, Martha, Charles, and Caroline] all of whom reached adulthood. Of the 9, seven had descendants. By 1860, Edward, SR, was living back in Youngstown with his two daughters, Martha and Caroline. His wife, Mary Ann died sometime between 1847-50, and his son Edward [a '49er] died in 1850, in California. So if Edward had a brother, the name John would certainly fit. Edward and Mary Ann are my 3rd great grandparents.I have a great of information about the descendants. So any other information about the ancestors or collateral lineswould be welcome.
