Here is a messgae that I posted at the Cavan, Ireland message board.
I am looking for infomation about the family of Patrick "Red Pat" Cassidy of Coppenabane, Glangevlin, County Cavan.
I found Patrick and his family in the 1901 Ireland Census.
Patrick Cassidy, Head of Family, 70 (or b. abt. 1840), married Ann Cassidy, Wife, 60 (or b. abt. 1850), married Bernard Cassidy, Son, 32 (or b. abt. 1878), not married Thomas Cassidy, Son, 30 (or b. abt. 1880), not married Mary Cassidy, Daughter, 26 (or b. abt. 1884), not married Nabby Cassidy, Daughter, 24 (or b. abt. 1886), not married Ellen Cassidy, Daughter, 21 (or b. abt. 1889), not married Peter Magee, Grandson, 6 (or b. abt. 1904)
The Mary Cassidy above married James Heart of Carrick West some time after the census was taken. They had 5 children.Bridget, Nora, John, Jimmy and Patrick Heart. All are deceased.
I believe that my great great grandmother Bridget McGovern a/k/a "Biddy Red Pat" Cassidy (b. abt. 1838) is the sister of this Patrick Cassidy. Bridget "Biddy Red Pat" Cassidy was married to Owen "Foxy" McGovern of Mully Lower, Glangevlin, Co. Cavan.
Church records from St. Patrick's RC Church in Glangevlin indicate that baptism sponsors for children of Bridget "Biddy Red Pat" Cassidy were Barney, Bernard, Felix and Mary Cassidy.
So, I am looking for Patrick Cassidy from Coppenabane. Also, Barney, Bernard, Felix and Mary Cassidy. I have been in touch with someone who has a Michael Cassidy b. 1835 in Copenagh bane.
