Yes, I have been often. The records are not easy to get at there, but you have a much better choice. The LDS Library filmed the baptism/marriage/deaths of St Peters Church, Drogheda (the largest one) and has them on file. You can go to your closest Family History Center, look up their microfilm catalogue numbers, then pay a small fee, and the films will be shipped out from Salt Lake City. The local FHC will call you when they come in. You use them on the premises but there are usually copiers there as well as the needed microfilm readers. There are copies of the records in Dublin, but again viewing locally in the US is much easier.
There are some records for St Mary's Church, Drogheda as well but not as complete as for St Peters.
If by some chance you are in the Washington DC area, go to the large Mormon Temple Family History Center. I requested the microfilms there years ago and they ended up buying them and keeping copies there. As of two years ago they were still there..some ten years later.
