Thank you for your response.I have been away from this forum for over a year due to family medical problems and just now seen your post.
I will search the Irish Family History Foundation's database as you suggested. You asked that I post a message to tell you of my search results. I have found out the following:
Michael White was the son of Michael White and Catharine Roe.He was fifth of eight children and was born on 12 Feb 1842 in BallyBailie, County Louth, Ireland. He and his siblings were all listed under the Parish/District or Ardee. His siblings were: Mary b. 1833, Jane b. 1835, Catharine b. 1837, Patt b. 1839, Anne b. 1844, Thos b. 1846, and Margaret b. 1851.
In the last 30 days I have found Michael’s father, Michael, on the Griffith’s Valuation for Ardee.I’m still leaning about what everything means but this is what it says:
No. & Letters of Reference to Map Townlands and Occupiers Immediate Lessors Description of Tenement BALLYBAILIE (Ord. S. 14.) 3 a James Roe Alexander Henry House, Offices, and Land 3 b Mary Thorton James Roe House 3 c John Carroll Same House 4 d Michael White Same House and garden
Also, I believe that I may have the Church Baptism Record for Catharine Roe, Date of Baptism/Birth 09-10-1803, Address:Green, Parish/District:Ardee, Co. Louth, Denomination:Roman Catholic, Father:Matw Roe, Mother:Caty Melone, Sponsor 1:John Hagan, Sponsor 2:Caty McCarney.
Finally, I believe that I may have the Church Marriage Record for Michl and Catharine.Date of Marriage:03-03-1831, Parish/District:Ardee, Co. Louth, Husband Name:Michl Wire (I have to find out if WIRE is the Irish spelling or what), Wife Name:Catharine Roe, Address: Ballabaily, Denomination:Roman Catholic, Witness 1 & 2:Phil McCartney and Margt Jordan.
I am pursuing the idea that line 3a of the Griffith’s Valuation, James Roe, is somehow related to Catharine Roe.
I would be interested in any thoughts or if you could possible verify any of the information I have found.
