I am trying to find the ancestors of William Stubbs born 1757 in Meath, Ireland and Margaret Mary Read Stubbs. If you have any information on Stubbs’ in Ireland please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I have my line traced back to William Stubbs (William E. Stubbs?) who married Margaret Mary Read in a Catholic Church in Ireland. But I do not know exactly when. Margaret Stubbs died in the U.S.A. in 1813. William Stubbs owned a Woolen Goods store at 17 St. Frances Street in Dublin during the late 1700's.
William and Margaret Stubbs along with six children and a servant named Nancy Ross arrived at the Port of New York December 31, 1807. They traveled aboard the ship "Osage" landing in NY from Dublin, Ireland. Children were Edward b. 1785 in Dublin, Catherine b. 1790, Michael Stubbs b. 1792, Rose Ann Stubbs,b. 1789, Richard Stubbs and William Stubbs.
