Hugh Howe's family is one of my major family lines and I have quite a bit on them. I do not know why his wife Ann Nancy Woods never had a marker but her obituary says that she is buried at Holy Assumption. If you were there as I have been many times you may have noticed two small stones next to the large monument. I am not sure who they are but I assume they were grandchildren who died young. All they have on them is initials.
Edward Jr. who is buried with Hugh died in Hennessey, Oklahoma as best as I can tell in some kind of construction accident.
Hugh's daughter Mary married Patrick Kearns and they are also buried at Holy Assumption.
Other Children of Hugh's:
John Howe married Margaret Hennessey and they are buried at Holy Rosary in Darlington.
Edward Howe born in New York, married Anastasia McPhillips and after her death married Bridget Doyle. Edward and Bridget are in my direct family line. They are buried at Holy Rosary.
James Howe married Mary Cassidy and they are buried at Holy Rosary.
Richard Howe married Maggie Welch and after her death married Bertha Moran. I am not sure that Maggie's name might not have actually been Walsh. She is buried near a large Walsh family plot at St. Patrick's at Hollandale with two infant children. Richard and Bertha are buried at Holy Rosary.
Annie Howe married John McCommish and they are buried at Our Lady of Hope at Seymour.
There were two other daughters, Margaret who married John Long and Catherine who married a Mr. Cunningham, but I do not have any additional information on them.
I have contacted the church at Belmont and according to the preist the records are sealed by the church and are not publicly accessible, but he seemed willing to search the records whenever his time permitted.
Maybe we could get in more direct touch and we could compare notes.Ted
