For Pat(rick) Ward M 1838 +/- 4 yrs, somewhere in Ireland, I found 58 rcds scattered over most of Ireland's 26 counties which are currently in an online database. After a tedious and exhaustive search, I found 1 potential rcd, 1842, Co. Kilkenny, St. Patrick's RC church.
For Mary Hickey M ditto, I found 68 rcds. Again scattered across Ireland. Again after eliminating false positives, I found a matching rcd for Mary, 1842, Co. Kilkenny, St. Patrick's RC church. This and Patrick's rcd are HIGHLY likely (but not 100% certain) to be for your ancestors.
For John Ward B 1842 (exact), somewhere in Ireland, with a father forenamed Pat(rick), I found 2 rcds: Dublin (St. Paul's Arran Quay RC church) and Meath (Johnstown RC parish). This doesn't match your Tipperary criteria. Hence, one, the other, or both of the records may be false positives. Note - a portion of Co. Tipperary B/M/D rcds were retained by the RC church. They are only available through the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of their search results).
