I was to Ireland in 2002 before I began the genealogy.I went from Shannon to Dublin and did not go to Cork or Waterford as so many people do.I enjoyed Limerick the best.It was a Sunday when I decided to brave a long distance call to Wales to confirm our visit.I opened the door of the pub and a crowd stood and clapped (to the championship soccer on the television).Even the priests were there between masses.Women were there with their newborn children. It was exciting.I played sports in high school and that cheering brought back memories-IT FELT GREAT.
We also found that Gannon is a family most likely emigrated from England not being a native to Ireland.
Ellen is from Wexford6 Sept 1856 parents: Terrence Redmann (Redmond) and Ellen Doyle
I am just reiterating some data.I do have some info of the number of siblings that came from Ellen Gannon (married to John Gannon in Wexford before living to England then America).
I am going Thursday, 21 February, to visit relatives of Ellen Gannon (nee Doyle 6 Sept 1856)and have mailed all my papers.
I was told (either John or Ellen) had 1 sibling then the other had 3 siblings.
