I am looking for information on the Wechsler. Of particular interest:
Israel Wechsler, probably born in Jaroslaw Poland (His papers "Heimatschein" is from there), born before 1840 and his wife Rosa Camerini, probalbly from Triest, Ancona or Tuscany, born before 1840. He emigrated to Alexandria Egypt after 1840. He travelled between Vienna and Alexandrian back and forth. Family legend has it that he spent the winters in Egypt and the summers in Austria.
His children: Hermann Wechsler, b. 1866, d. 1916 both in Alexandria Egypt Rachel Wechsler, unmarried in 1916, no dates Sophie Wechsler, unmarried in 1916, no dates
Eugenia Wechsler (died 1949, probably Alexandria), married to Salvatore (?) Bensilum (died before 1916), marriage between 1876 and 1880 in Cairo. They probably had children, as there was the talk of cousins (S. and E. are aunt and uncle to my grandfather Otto Wechsler)
Egizia Wechsler (died February, 1949; Alexandria) married to Bension Ventura (died June 1922, Alexandria)Childless. Bension had his own company, B. Ventura & Co, Banque & Assurance. Egizia means "The Eyptian (female)". Her name maybe had something to do with settling in Egypt.
Further possible relatives: Jan Wechsler, b. 1884 in Alexandria Egypt, emigrated to Belgium around 1906 Maria Wechsler, b. before 1850, lived in Cairo between 1860 and 1871
Any tidbit of information is highly appreciated. Anything helps even if it seems unrelated.
